TD- Qualities of a Leader: How to be a Leader (5)

Hello everyone,

Today, I believe that the most striking thing that I have noticed here lately about leadership is the ability to read the recipe, do the math, and diagnose the illness.  Now what do I mean by those phrases?  Well, I mean to say that a Leader, from what I can see, is someone who is able to read a situation and understand it from the get-go.  A Leader can and must be able to collect the information he or she needs to make the proper analysis about what is going on and how to solve whatever problem is confront them.  That is why statistics are so very important to a business.

How many leads did I have this month?

How many leads turned into sales?

How many sales generated enough revenue to keep the budget afloat?

Did I lose any customers this month?

Did my service volume drop off?

I think you get the picture.  An effective leader can look at this information and from it, devise a plan to succeed in the midst of strife and hard times.  A Leader must know how to make the proper decisions with the ingredients at hand and make sure the cake doesn’t fall flat.  To learn how to do this, I am learning, can be time consuming, costly, but ultimately, extremely valuable toward a successful future.

Read the label.

Follow the directions.

Bake the Cake.

Until next time,
